Delta USAR
Reflectors
Retroreflective Optical Barriers

Technical Characteristics

1. Ambient temperature
The maximum admissible temperature depends on the type of prism used:

Plastic multi-prism
Single glass prism
Several small glass prisms
40°C
100°C
250°C
R 110, R 110 A
R 630 A
R 110 HT, R110 HTA

As an option, the attachment of a block incorporating a stainless steel coil is available.  The coils allow water cooling of the glass reflectors, thus permitting ambient temperatures greater than the limits given above.

Warning:
A plastic multiprism reflector may be deformed by intense infrared radiation, even at low ambient temperatures. It is therefore advisable not to place a plastic reflector in close proximity to a strong IR source (e.g. hot product, furnace).

2. Mechanical construction
The reflectors R are mounted on a metal base with either:

  • a visor and protective window (R 110, R 110 HT, R 110 HTF)
  • or a "tubus" possessing an inlet for compressed air to inhibit the settling of vapor or dust on the reflective element (R 110 A, R 110 HTA, R 110 HTAF, R 630 A, R 630 AF).
