DC
3000
Scanning Hot Metal Detector
Two Sensitivity Ranges: 400°C & 250°C
Features
1. Mechanical
- An adjustable mounting
stand
- A cooling jacket with
embedded stainless steel cooling coil. The
jacket, which is independent of the
opto-electronic case, includes all the fluid
supply connections. The independent jacket allows
the detector to be demounted without first
disconnecting the fluid supplies or changing the
optical alignment.
- A protective hood,
hinged for cleaning of the detector window,
includes an air purging system and adjustable
aperture shutters.
- Direct sighting through
the detector enables precise orientation.
- The scanning angle
(10°, 30° or 50°) is shown on the case.
2. Electronic
- A photocell
particularly suited to detection at low
temperatures or in the presence of water vapor.
- Remote control of two
sensitivity ranges
- A 15-pin, plus earth,
connector. The detector is supplied with the
mating connector mounted on a cable (standard
length: 2 m).
- All the electronics on
a single plug-in circuit board.
- A control panel beneath
a protective hinged cover at the rear
- of the detector
providing:
Viewfinder
"Test" push-button for
simulation of a product
Two sensitivity adjustment potentiometers
(one for each range)
A tri-color LED indicating:
off: malfunction
green: product absence
red: product presence
orange: signal saturated
3. Self monitoring
Alarm:
monitoring of the internal temperature of the
detector (maximum 55°C/130°F) indicating any fault in
the cooling syste.
monitoring of the power supply and of the scanning
Control:
Automatic control of the sensitivity for different
products and monitoring of the detection circuitry
providing an indication of:
dirty aperture glass
the position of the sensitivity range switch
