Delta USAR
Reflectors
Retroreflective Optical Barriers

Application
The reflectors R are used in association with reflecting optical/laser barriers:  VB2.

Features       Up
There is a wide range of reflectors to meet the different application requirements:

  • Can be used at ambient temperatures as high as 400°C with water cooling and 250°C without water cooling.
  • Designed for heavy industry environments.
  • Air-purging to keep dust clear from the reflectors.

Working Principle       Up
A prism reflector reflects light back along the same axis as the incident light, independent of the angle of incidence. The angle of incidence must not, however, exceed 15°.

This property enables the easy alignment of the "reflector - Y3 detector" during the setting up of the optical barrier. During alignment it is necessary only that the reflector be placed in the maximum emission cone of the Y 3 detector, without attempting a precise orientation of the reflector. (It is sufficient to be approximately perpendicular to the axis of the barrier).
