General Description
Utilizing state-of-the-art photocell technology, the DC 6000 combines the features of normal-sensitivity and high-sensitivity detectors. These units function reliably in temperature ranges of 250°C to 1200°C and under any adverse conditions, such as water, steam, dust or scale.

The scanning system, in association with state-of-the-art IR photocell technology, is the optimal solution for accurate, fast and reliable detection of product whatever the size and the temperature. It is particularly well adapted to applications where the change of the process results in a significant variation of the temperature of the product or a variation of its emmissivity factor.

The detector’s narrow field of view - 8 mm wide at 4 m distance - enhances precision, whatever the product, from the continuous caster to the finishing mill or the cooling bed.

Beyond the usual logical signals, the sensor is fitted with a serial link for full data communication. All information including alarms, operating parameters, and signal level are provided. Infrared radiation levels can be remotely checked and the sensitivity level adjusted from the control room to get reliable and accurate detection.

A bar graph and a remote control set make its commissioning easier.

The Scanning Hot Metal Detector DC 6000 Series also features an alarm system with two diagnostic functions to forewarn operators of any impending problems. Not only will this prevent costly downtime, it further improves reliability and efficiency.

Like all of Delta’s high performance products, the DC 6000 Series is specifically designed to bring state of the art technology into the extreme steel mill environment, while requiring very little maintenance.
